本作はFIAからWorld Rally Championshipの完全公式ライセンスを獲得している「WRC」シリーズの最新作。今作からラリージャパンが追加され、FIA初のラリードライバー発掘育成プログラム、ラリースターなどe-Sportsも開催されている。
