オーストラリアラリー選手権（ARC）は2024年、2023年型スバルWRX STIをベースとしたラリーカーのワンメイクシリーズ、WRXチャレンジを創設する。オーストラリアで長年、スバルドライバーとして活躍してきたディーン・ヘリッジがオーナーを務める西オーストラリア・パース拠点のマキシマム・モータースポーツがマシンを製作する。
Maximum Motorsport
改造を最小限に抑えた4WD車両をベースに、ドライビングが楽しく、信頼性があり安全であることを最重要課題に掲げる。2024年には、10台を製作し、価格は競技参戦ができる状態で9万5000オーストラリアドル（約890万円）。
シーズン中は、全戦にWRXチャレンジ・サービスパークビレッジを設置し、競技者をサポート。パーツサポートを行うことで、競技者はパーツ投資や運搬を負担する必要がなくなる。また、スバルのテクニカルスタッフが常駐してテクニカルサポートを行うほか、ホスピタリティや運搬を発注することもできる。
シリーズには賞典も用意され、チャンピオンには2024年型スバルWRXの量産車を進呈。さらに、各戦のトップ3には、標準パーツ用の商品券が贈られる。さらに、ARCのサイトを通じてSNSでの発信も行われる。
